Facebook bans Donald Trump for two years

Posting suspended

Donald Trump’s indefinite ban has been turned into a two year ban, but backdated to Jan 7. That means Jan 7 2023, he’ll be back – not for the midterm elections – but just in time to potentially run for President again.

Facebook says Donald Trump’s posts were a “a severe violation of our rules which merit the highest penalty available under the new enforcement protocols”.

The ban will be reevaluated in two years by a panel of experts, and then if he’s allowed back on the platform he’ll face increasing sanctions if he continues to break the rules.

Oversight board will again review this decision by FB.
