Talking Tech - June 20:
“Hey Siri, I’m being pulled over”

If you’re Black in America, your iPhone could bring you justice.

Black Americans are far more likely to be stopped and arrested by Police – and as we’ve seen, these interactions can go wrong.

There is a Siri shortcut, put together by Robert Peterson, which will start recording on your iPhone by simply saying a phrase: “Hey Siri, I’m being pulled over”.

The shortcut will start a series of events; it will dim your phone’s display, stop any music that’s playing and start recording on the front facing camera. It can also send your current location to a contact along with a message.

More information on how to set it up can be found on Reddit.

President Trump’s social media is again being flagged

Twitter has labeled one of his tweets as containing ‘manipulated media’. And for the first time Facebook has pulled Trump content. Ads for Trump’s re-election have been removed as Facebook says they contain a hate group’s symbol – an upside down red triangle once used by Nazis in concentration camps to identify political prisoners. Unless content incites hate or suppresses voter registration of turnout, then Facebook says it won’t factcheck or remove content.
